The Striped Garden Egg is an African variety of eggplant that is both beautiful and delicious. The fruits are eaten when they are 2-3in long and white with green stripes, but they will eventually ripen to orange. The leaves are also edible. Both are used in stews and sautés and have a slightly bitter flavor.
