Bred by Mississippi State University in 1965, it is recognized by the Slow Food Ark of Taste as a culturally important heirloom. This variety features silver-colored pods, the beans are large, brown, and have a meaty taste. They can be prepared in various ways, including boiling, freezing, canning, or drying.Â
