The Sierra Leone Ribbed Tomato was introduced in the U.S. by Julia Swanson who obtained the fruits at a farmers market in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The plants are indeterminate and highly productive. The fruits are bright red with deep ribs and are occasionally hollow. The pulp is dense, low in acidity, and has minimal juice. While delicious raw, this is the perfect tomato for stuffing, roasting, or sauce-making.
