Purple Calabash is an indeterminate tomato with burgundy fruits approximately 3in wide with a flattened, ribbed shape. The flavor is rich, acidic and sweet. It is delicious both fresh and as a sauce.  Some fruits experience cat-facing but they rarely crack. Purple Calabash is an old variety similar to those grown in Mexico before colonization.
